Rincoe Manto 228W Kit | Starring the Manto Mod

Rincoe Manto kit review

Rincoe is a new name in the industry but it’s quickly gaining traction. One of their first products is the surprisingly good Manto kit which features a mod called the Manto 228W TC, and a sub-ohm mesh tank called the Metis. The Manto is a simple-to-use dual-18650 mod with a full TC suite and an almost instant fire at 0.002 seconds. The Metis is a stout 25 mm sub ohm mesh tank with a 6 mL bubble glass. It is compatible with two of Rincoe’s own coils (a mesh and a hive coil, both rated at 0.15 ohms) as well as the Baby Beast coils.

Colors: blue, SS, rainbow, full black, red

Specifications

  • Manto measurements: 89 x 47 x 31 mm
  • Metis e-juice capacity: 6 mL
  • Screen: 2 inches
  • Battery type: dual-18650 batteries
  • Drip tip: 810
  • Thread: spring-loaded 510

The mod: Manto 228W TC

No mod is perfect. But even with its flaws, I think the Manto is an incredible mod! The hand-feel, performance, screen, and ease of use all get high marks. Also, the spring-loaded 510 is of high quality and the battery door has strong magnets (although mine has too much lateral play.)

The Manto is about 22 grams heavier than the Vaporesso Polar but it’s a few millimeters shorter. It’s also got a similar body shape, though the Manto is much more ergonomic.

The screen on the Manto is nice! It’s not “3D”, like I’ve read it’s supposed to be, but the black background and graphics are really easy on the eyes. It’s a 2-inch deep-set adjustable color screen that’s overlaid with a thick and scratch-resistant glossy plastic (making it a fingerprint magnet).

  • Select with fire button and long-press to go back
  • Press minus button and fire button for wattage adjustment in TC
  • Lock resistance with +/- button press

Menu Options

  • TC mode: Ni, Ti, SS, and TCR
  • Settings: brightness, timeout (screen-on time), color (green blue, purple, pink, red, orange, yellow, and green)
  • Factory reset

It’s been a pleasure to use this mod. It fires super-quick with maybe just a tiny delay compared to something like the Vaporesso Polar. The TC worked well for me too without any convoluted protocol or fiddling.

It’s adjusted in temp with watts pre-set to 60 (where I left it). I tested the TC with the Freemax Mesh Pro SS coil head, and my own 28 gauge 0.8-ohm single-coil build on the Fumytech Rose. Both coils shocked me for how easily and quickly they worked in TC with no error messages. TC has never been this easy for me. Initially I thought that the dry hit protection didn’t work, but it does. My RTA SS coil stopped making vapor once the cotton got back to bone dry.

For watts mode in the normal setting, the Manto seems to push power a bit above what it’s set to. It hits fast and hard! I like it though. It’s just something to consider if you’re used to vaping one coil at one setting; you might want to start a little lower with this mod.

The tank: Metis

Rincoe_Manto

As good as the Manto is for performance, the Metis isn’t on the same level. It’s a good-looking sub ohm tank with Rincoe’s with mesh and hive coils.

The paint job is stellar and it holds 6 mL of juice despite only standing 46 mm off the mod with the removable 810 tip included. The refill method is a simple screw-top to access the fill ports, which are really wide and unobstructed when filling. You can just pour juice in the tank.

But the disassembly can get wonky. The Manto it one of those tanks that when you go to unscrew one part, sometimes you end up unscrewing another part. That can make a mess or just an unnecessary hassle.

One cool thing about the Metis is that it’s compatible with SMOK Baby Beast coils in addition to the two Rinoce-made coils: a 0.15-ohm hive coil head and a mesh coil head of the same resistance. The hive coil head, which is a mesh-like coil but with wider perforations, is a separate purchase.

Rincoe_Manto

Coils

  • Mesh 0.15-ohm coil: Rated for 40 to 100 watts. I found it best around 75 to 85 watts with the airflow wide open.
  • Hive 0.15-ohm coil: Rated for 40 to 100 watts. This coil takes a little bit longer to break in, but the performance was about the same as the mesh coil. Best around 75 to 85 watts.

The coils’ performance for flavor and vapor is fairly good, and they haven’t spit, leaked or gurgled. The airflow is fairly open, but it can be loud and turbulent, especially when starting to close the three airflow slots. Luckily, the coils perform best in the upper range of the recommended wattage — which is better for an open airflow.

Each coil head has the same four elongated hexagonal wick ports, but they’re too small. They don’t wick as well as they should. If you chain vape them at their higher recommended wattages, you will get some bad hits. I was able to vape both coils all the way up to 100 watts, but the wicking can’t keep up fast enough to stay that high. Fortunately, being Baby Beast compatible opens up the options for a lot more coils to use.

Likes

  • Design and aesthetics
  • Large and bright screen
  • Almost an instant fire on the Manto
  • Easy to navigate menu system
  • TC works easily and without complications
  • The mod feels good in the hand
  • The Metis is compatible with Baby Beast coils
  • No leaking from the tank
  • Wide-open top fill

Dislikes

  • The Manto is a fingerprint magnet
  • Coils sometimes don’t unscrew with the base
  • Wicking is a bit slow

Verdict

Overall, I think this is a good kit made by a great mod. The Manto performs well, it has a lot of quality features, and it’s easy to use. The screen is amazing in any light, the mod fires quickly, and it feels good in the hand. And although I hardly ever vape in TC, the Manto seems to do it well, and without complications.

The Metis tank isn’t bad, but it’s got performance issues due to the slow wicking of the Rincoe coils. Luckily, it’s compatible with the Baby Beast and many other tanks’ coils. I think the tank itself is good enough that I would not advise against buying the whole kit. Having said that, the driving force behind the recommendation is the Manto mod. It’s easily my favorite mod right now.

Joyetech Riftcore Duo RTA Review – No Coils? No Problem!

Joyetech Riftcore Duo RTA Review

Joyetech Riftcore Duo RTA Introduction

Coil-less vape technology whilst innovative in idea and concept has proven to be flawed and rather disappointing in past attempts. Firstly the Altus tank from way back in 2016 great concept, poor reviews. Secondly and one I personally reviewed, the NCR RDA from a company called NCR. I cannot comment on the first but the NCR definitely had me excited at first and then quickly changed to disappointment once I actually had a go with it. So here we are now with the latest in coil-less technology – Joyetech Riftcore Duo RTA and this one had me a lot more interested from the off!

The Riftcore duo is brought to us by one of the biggest names in the vaping industry, none other than Joyetech. What is going to make this any better than previous attempts? I knew from the moment I was asked to write an article that better things might be expected given the name behind this project. To me, why would a company of this size and popularity put their name on something that just was not going to cut it! As I had reviewed the NCR I was happy to give this a shot and write a review on it.

Some of the claims made prior to release are that this will contain the safest heating element that has been independently tested in the USA and results will be made public, so full transparency. The element itself will last around 1,000,000 puffs and will be self-cleaning. I keep wanting to call it an RTA but with a million puff lifespan, I am pretty confident that I won’t be rebuilding this other than new cotton anytime soon!

Joyetech Riftcore Duo RTA ReviewJoyetech Riftcore Duo RTA Unboxing

The Riftcore comes in a hard plastic casing. Inside you will find:

  • Riftcore Duo Tank
  • Spare Glass
  • Precut Cotton Strips
  • Hex Key
  • Warranty Card
  • Quick Start Guide

Joyetech Riftcore Duo RTA Specs

Diameter: 26.0mm
Height: 47.0mm
Capacity: 3.5ml
Deck: Compatible With Joyetech RFC Element Only
Material ( Tank ): Stainless Steel

First Look

Joyetech Riftcore Duo RTA ReviewFirst impressions of the tank, it looks like any other. Just a normal looking tank, nothing swanky or innovative here! Starting up top with a cool honeycomb drip tip (which is replaceable with your own 510 drip tip) moving down to the top cap which rather than unscrewing to fill the tank you slide back. First off remove the drip tip and on one of the sides, you will see a triangle marking indicting to push back. The top cap slides back to reveal a juice fill hole.

So the RFC elements the look interesting, building is easy! You take one of the included cotton strips, or of course your cotton of choice, and install between the two elements. If using your own cotton ensure to cut it at the edge of the deck so it just covers the juice holes in the chimney area. With no cotton installed the elements heat fast, evenly and glow nice and bright this is thanks to the molecular heating technology that has gone into the elements themselves.

Ohm-wise on these you get a stable 0.25 reading with both installed and it is possible to remove one of the elements to achieve a 0.5ohm build using just the one element. I will say that when you take the box of spares out there is a warning card inside that tells you only to remove the element to replace but the manual suggests the above regarding single element builds. For the review, I have kept to the dual build. I know the burning question is going to be what is the element made of? There is not any information on that yet, but I will add it in at a later point as I suspect it will become evident in the test reports that Joyetech will be making public. I did find the below graph on the Joyetech website but it does not really give anything away in terms of material, other than that this is clearly marked as safe.

Is Joyetech Riftcore Duo RTA Safe?

Now make of that what you will, it does suggest the material is certainly safe by looking at the green markings on the scale. The sub-note points out for reference only and the TPD emissions report due later. I will update the article as and when that surfaces. My thoughts, Joyetech is a brand to be trusted so I personally am going to stick with the side that it is a safe material to use. Sure the argument will swing to the other side of that cigarette companies said smoking was safe all those years ago and that is indeed true. As vapers, we hear these same arguments on an ever reoccurring basis now. The fact remains vaping will always be safer than smoking. The evidence is already there on that one!

The All Important Part

Of course, the most important part of this post is what the Riftcore actually performs like. I’ll be honest, as much as I wanted this to be great, part of me was reluctant to be as impressed as I was. After all, I was impressed initially with the NCR which turned out to be a letdown. Vaping is a passion and a hobby so innovation just excites me as much as the next guy. But here we have a fantastically well-made tank, a great concept and a concept that truly works. There are a few things I would like to see, I will add those that the end.

Joyetech Riftcore Duo RTA Flavour

I have trialled this using various liquids with varying amounts of flavour depth and I have to say in most cases the Riftcore performs very well indeed. Stronger flavours work best in this I found that more delicate flavours did not come through quite as well. Going a tad over the recommended 40w to vape gives better performance depending on the liquid. I was vaping between 53-60 watts was perfect. Not only was the flavour better but the vapour was much warmer than when I was vaping at the recommended wattage. At 40w it was far too cool for me.

Joyetech Riftcore Duo RTAJoyetech Riftcore Duo RTA Airflow and Wicking

The slightly thinner than normal airflow is compensated for by having the third slot available for use. It does not make it as restrictive as I first thought that it may be. There is a slight restriction but nothing that bothers me greatly. Juice wicking is another positive point. The small amount of cotton surely assists here but the elements keep up with even constant chain vaping with no sign of a dry hit yet!

Other Points

One thing that I noticed was the ohms were jumping up quite a lot whilst vaping, normal for this material perhaps but without knowing what it is I am not sure. I did what I would do on a normal coil and check all post connections were tight etc and still remained the same. It makes no noticeable difference to the vape experience. For me, it was jumping from 0.25 to 0.49 but stayed at 0.49. I recall the NCR also jumped up too but was all over the shop whilst firing. It’s worth mentioning that with the Riftcore as soon as you stop firing the ohm level returns to normal instantly.

I used various juices all of which were very sweet. The reason is to see how dirty the element could get and how easy it self-cleans. There is still an element of user input needed for the self-clean. Lower wattage to 30 and dry burn, that is it. Clean coils and gunk free!

Joyetech Riftcore Duo RTA Pros and Cons

My pros for this are easier and I was surprised that it was harder to find cons. So first off with the pros.

Pros

The build quality is excellent, just as I expected it to be. Joyetech is one of the better companies in terms of churning out well made and high-quality products. Ease of building, aside from the fact I had no building to do as it was all done. Changing the cotton is easy as pie! Flavour, this was very good and better than expected, far better than the NCR. Precut strips of cotton included give you an idea for when using your own cotton on the thickness and lengths you need. Self-cleaning was easy enough and got rid of all the residue from the coils very quickly. Vapour production was also very good.

Cons

I could not really find anything that I did not like. Things I would perhaps like to see in the future mainly. All I could come up with was different rated elements. Perhaps 0.15ohms & 1.0ohm to suit all areas of the market. Whether this would be possible I do not know. The only other thing is really something that would prevent those arguments of whether it is safe or not. Let us know the material and so people can make that informed decision rather than jumping to conclusions about what it is or how safe it is without the facts. Sure this may be revealed in the test reports but earlier notification would be good.

Some may say that the elements lifespan will take the fun out of building your tank but for a simple piece of kit that needs no attention other than looking out for your cotton, this is great. Yes, you would be seeing fancy builds here. But it is what it is.

Joyetech Riftcore Duo RTA Final Thoughts

Overall I am incredibly impressed with this and can see it fitting into the market very well. For once coil-less technology succeeds and this time could truly be game-changing.

GeekVape Aegis Legend – Overview

GeekVape Aegis Legend – Overview

Virtually all GeekVape products are of high quality. In the summer of 2017, GeekVape Aegis came out – a box mod that had moisture and vandal-protection and was on one battery. As soon as reviewers did not test it. Alex from Vapersmd with Jeff was virtually destroyed on a crash test. A md TROY with a “shotgun” ralahmatil device.

In general, without thinking twice, the engineers came up with a new box-mod, with a function of moisture protection and resistant to shocks. The box mod got the name Aegis Legend, now for 2 batteries and with a number of changes. There are like whale kits, which came to us and can be purchased separately from the box.

IJOY AVENGER BABY REVIEW

In-depth iJoy Avenger Baby Starter Kit Review

IJoy has now released another voice controlled box mod kit with the Diamond mini-tank, but this time it’s small and supports the new dual 20350 batteries which come with the kit. So how does this tiny mod perform in regards to battery life, vape quality and how does it compete against similar box mods? Well, let’s take a look to see!
Some of the colors of the iJoy Avenger Baby

Design

This mod kit is small, no doubt about it and the remarkable thing with this mod is that it has removable batteries. Now, obviously the standard 18650 batteries are too big for this mod, so iJoy have released a new size of batteries named the 20350. We don’t know anyone who has these batteries, so iJoy are actually including 2 batteries in the kit.

This is a great decision, as you can buy extra batteries if you like, rather than having to wait for the device to charge like other mods of similar size with internal built-in batteries.

The mod itself measures just 66mm in height, 48mm in width and has the depth of just 34mm so it fits in the hand completely and with a weight of about 210grams is feeling pretty solid. The tank adds another 48mm to the height (excluding the screw thread) and has a diameter of 22.5mm. So you get what we mean by small, especially for a maximum wattage of 108W.
Rainbow mirror version of the iJoy Avenger Baby

The color selection is huge, which is a little unusual for new mods, but iJoy believe this is going to be a hot seller from the word go! The colors include Mirror orange, blue, red, black, stainless steel, gunmetal, purple, gold, green, white and rainbow, so you should find something you like out of the selection!

The 510 screw thread is spring loaded and mounted in the center of the mod at the top, meaning you can use any tank you like on this and it will still balance pretty well. The front of the mod is where the large colorful OLED screen is housed with the adjustment buttons and USB port beneath. The firing bar is large and found on the side of the mod.
The Diamond Mini Tank included

Diamond Mini Tank

As part of the kit, you get the iJoy Diamond mini tank, we’ve seen the regular Diamond tank before on the iJoy Saber, Zenith 3 and the IJoy Wand, but this new tank uses the same design on a much smaller scale.

It has a nice dual airflow control at the base which you can adjust, a removable mouthpiece which uses a screwed in 510 sleeve. It also features a top-fill design with 2 large fill holes, one to allow the air to escape without leakage and both are bigger enough for large e-liquid drippers.

The coils are, and we’re pleased to say, mesh coils which iJoy make very well! The cotton within the mesh coil is not compact which helps produce flavor quicker without having to waste half a tank worth of juice before you can enjoy the full taste!

The preinstalled coil is the 0.18ohm DMB-MS mesh which can be vaped between 40-80W but best around 50-55W. You also get a spare coil in the kit, another mesh coil but a 0.15-ohm DMB-DM coil which can be vaped around the same wattage.
Avenger Baby Mod Kit Features and Size

Focus On www.ave40.com For More Vape Kits.

Features

The front screen is really well laid out and easy to read, giving you all the information the vaper needs, such as the current wattage, puff counter, vape mode, resistance of the coil, voltage and dual battery indicators.

To enter the menu area it’s the normal 3 clicks of the fire button and here you can change the vape mode from normal, hard and soft, adjust the colors, adjust to temperature control by selecting the coil type with 2 memory modes, and other settings like time change, and turning the microphone on and off. Another interesting option in the menu area is the Pod setting; this is where you can actually set the mod to use the pod tanks by setting the corresponding voltage.
Voice commands on the iJoy Avenger Baby mod

Voice Control

One feature which can’t be ignored any longer is the new improved voice control. iJoy originally introduced this feature on the standard Avenger, but it wasn’t that great.

To activate the iJoy Avenger Baby in the listening mode you have to say “Hello iJoy” the microphone icon will then appear on the screen. Then you can follow up with the following commands:

  • Soft mode, normal mode, hard mode – to change the vape mode
  • Lock device, unlock device – obviously to lock and unlock the device
  • Power high, power low – to increase or decrease the wattage at 5W intervals
  • 20W, 30W, 40W etc all the way to 90W – to set the desired wattage
  • Auto Watt – to let the mod determine the best wattage for the coil
  • Turn on light, light off, music light – to set the light displays

The voice control does work, it’s certainly an improvement to the original Avenger, but it’s not 100% and can be a little frustrating. After some time you end up just switching the microphone off to avoid the mod picking up random commands and adjusting your settings without you knowing!
Performance of the Avenger Baby Mod Kit

Performance

Using the preinstalled 0.18ohm DMB-MS mesh coil at 50-Watts seem to be the sweet spot for us. Producing a great vape hit especially in Hard vape mod. The flavor of the mesh coils is hard to beat and really smooth. Ranking the wattage up to the higher levels is where most mods tend to fade off, but the iJoy Avenger Baby seems to cope and produces a good warm vape. We’re impressed!

In temperature control mode its becomes obvious that iJoy has improved the settings, vaping a lot warmer and seems to be right on the edge of cutting off in time before you get a dry hit, really happy with the result here.
Packaging of the iJoy Avenger Baby Kit

To Conclude

It’s obvious that iJoy have made a series of improvements in the design and features of the iJoy Avenger Baby kit, including improved voice controls but most importantly improved vaping in both wattage mode and temperature control mode, competing against all the best e-cigs on the market.

The removable batteries are also a plus and the performance of the Diamond Mini tank is superb, it’s really not hard to be really happy with this kit, even if you turn off the voice control! This is one mod kit that both new vapers and experienced vapers will enjoy.
